In a rare,
my husband had two days off this week,

(Being that we are broke)
until we found all THIS cool stuff!

Strawberry Tin Serving tray for me!

A few Gentlemanly Items for my Husband such as:
 This sweet money clip

And this British Gentleman's lighter

quick Meatless Monday *Express*

I know I haven't been faithful about
Meatless Monday
for two weeks,
and I'm sorry for that.
I promise my Chef of a husband is writing me out
Two VERY delicious recipes for
the weeks to come.
In the meantime,
here is a quick summer garden meal
you can throw together in 15 minutes (or less)!

Bruschetta

What you need:
*Tomatoes
(as much as you want)
*Fresh Mozzarella
(as much as you want)
*Fresh Basil
(as much as you want)
(you get the idea..hehe)
*Olive Oil
*Balsamic Vinegarette
*optional:
Sea Salt
Pepper
and Garlic Powder.

*And some bread for dipping
just sliced or toasted
(ex. Baguette, Ciabatta bread, or Focaccia are good choices)

What you do:
Super Easy!
Chop the Tomatoes, Fresh Mozzarella, and Fresh Basil
(however much you'd like of each!)
and throw all together in a bowl.
Then add your olive oil and Balsamic.
(Again, however much you like.
some people like it on the soupy side, some people don't)
Then season to taste with your
Sea Salt
Pepper
and Garlic Powder
 and then DIP AWAY!
very yummy, very easy.
(P.S. My husband and I always make a BIG batch,
it tastes even better the next day after it has
been marinating all night!)

Thanks
Enjoy

Than I put my little shark fins in the middle and covered them with some frosting.

Then I added some sea weed on the sides, on the top,
and a little bitten life ring.
Viola!

made the AWESOME sign for the case.

"Man Eater"

Meatless and recipe-less Monday =( But Cupcake decorating with some teens!

Hey guys,
I was hoping to get back to our regularly scheduled
Meatless Monday recipies,
but I had to work late tonight and didn't have time
to get a recipe that I know id yummy.
I spent my evening teaching a cake decorating class
with a co-worker,
for teens at a local library.
Something a little different for me,
but we had fun.
The kids did a GREAT job.
I was very impressed!
We showed them how to make Roses, Daisies, and elephants,
Here are some of their creations....
Elephant Line up

One girl made a Narwhal from her imagination SO COOL!
(P.S. I was super excited by this because there is a big narwhal joke with my husband!)

Here are some Daisies!
And some Roses
(Which are really hard to make... SUPER SUPER Impressive!)

They all did a great job,
I just had to share.
Thanks for stopping by!

Charcoal Drawings from college...

I still had a bunch of
things from college left at my Dad's house,
and he was sick of them kicking around the house,
so I went amd got them.
Amongst all my crap
was a large bag of drawings from when I was still in College.
I just had one of those moments,
while I was going through all the drawings,
where I just said to myself,
"Did I really do these?"
It has been YEARS since I've seen them,
I am in awe of myself,
I think they look so beautiful, organic, and effortless.
I don't even think I could
draw anything similar if I tried now.
Here are a few of the first ones I pulled out.

(P.S. These suckers are HUGE and messy,
I thought I was cool using charcoal and pastels.)
Thanks for stopping by.

Sketch for a new Dias De Los Muertos painting...

Sorry guys.
I have been being a SERIOUS lazy bum these last two weeks.
Shame on me.
I have no excuses this week,
not even Vampire Diaries.
(Mainly because I watched all three seasons in like 3 1/2 days!)
I do have an idea for a painting floating around
in my little noodle.
I even started skecthing it out.
(Something that happens very rarely before I do a painting
 I might add)
It is a Dias De Los Muertos
inspired image of a blue mono- chromatic bride,
with very small touches of bright color here and there.

Here is the sketch
and here is the beginnings of my color idea
Hopefully I will put brush to canvas on this one VERY soon!
Thanks for stopping by,
